Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Awakening of Trailblazer |
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Awakening of Trailblazer Posted: 05 Jan 2011 07:21 PM PST The movie has beautiful graphics and all but the story is not what i expected it to be..
ScreenshotsScore:6/10 After more than one and half months of waiting for this movie I was quite disappointed to be honest. Thinking back the ending of the last episode of Gundam 00 Second season, it was fairly decent but left some questions unanswered, especially the last scene with the picture of Jupiter with 4 lights surrounding it. Gundam 00 movie explained that part along the movie but ended only with more questions for the audience. With Ribbons’s first appearance when the invasion of ELS begun, I initially thought that he came back to life for revenge. But was killed of by Setsuna soon after that. Which then made me think that Ribbons’s dead scene during the second season was really lame. Antagonist usually crack up in the end when the good guys win, but Ribbons’s didn’t even have the chance to make that kind of speech and i actually had hopes that he might return in this movie. Though whether he comes back to life or not, I think this show should have ended during the second season. Also, notice that the characters undergone changes, physically and mentally. Like how Sumeragi and Feldt cut their hair short while i actually like it more in the past when their hair was longer. Never mind though, they’re still very pretty. Meanwhile as for Graham Aker, I was glad that he turned back to the way he was, or even better that he was previously. Even though I liked his desperate and determined attitude when he was Mr.Bushido. He was so awesome in season 2 but too little screen time focused on him. However, I didn’t like the fact that he sacrificed in the end. And I think he should have played a more important role in this movie rather than being a pawn. I even heard somewhere that he”ll pilot a gundam in this movie and fight alongside with Celestial Being. Also, notice how he always talk to Setsuna while Setsuna never actually talks back? Other than that, I didn’t like the idea of ELS being the antagonist for this movie and it is really unexpected. They’re only strong because of their large number but not strong individually. They’re fighting a lifeless enemies with no final boss whatsoever. And it only make Gundam 00 looks like a typical anime movie rather then being a sequel for the show. Speaking of the ending, it was confusing. I paused for a quite some time while looking at the credits with an expressionless face. What’s with Setsuna suddenly gone and became a giant flower? After all the teasing along the movie with Setsuna x Feldt he returns to Marina after like 50 years? What took him so long to go after Marina? But to be honest, she was very insignificant compared to Feldt as I would prefer Setsuna ending up with Feldt. In the end, we didn’t even get to see what happened to the other characters. And is Setsuna in ELS’s homeworld or what? Also, notice Setsuna’s gundam had flowers blooming all over in the end. Despite the confusing ending, the only amazing aspect of the movie was none other than the art, just the same as it’s prequels. Although i didn’t like the enemies, the fight was still nice and the graphic was top notch. Not to mention that Setsuna improved drastically as he only used Flag to pawn 3 GN-Xs on his own. All in all, this show falls on the below average category for me. It should have ended back in season 2 and the ending didn’t have much impact. In fact, it confuses the viewers even more. I guess all the hype and patience in waiting for this movie was all for nothing then. |
