Synopsis

Infinite Stratos ep 2 review. For starter, the flashback of the previous week, Cecilia Alcott has challenged Orimura Ichika in a duel to fight for class president seat. Ichika been mock by her and feels unsatisfied with her words, he took up the challenge knowing that he has less knowledge on IS. Two of the fact revealed, there are limited value of IS produced, which is 467 unit of IS all around the world and the creator of the IS or Infinite Stratos is Sinonono Tabane, Houki‘s sister. For the time being, he start the conversation with Houki. Ichika tried to convinced Houki to teach and train him to be a better IS(Infinite Stratos) pilot. Houki trains him with Kendo, and not IS, Infinite Stratos. After a week, The time has come. It’s a day of the challenge. It appeared that Cecilia is already in her IS which is Blue Tears IS, a sniper type IS. Ichika finally receive an IS at the day of the match. It appears that the IS that has been receive by Ichika is owned by his sister, Chifuyu, that has been a champion in the past. The IS is called Byakushiki IS. Also this time another fact revealed, which is it can transform from default setting to first shift mode which raise the ability of the IS. During the fight, Ichika at first fighting with Cecilia with only the default setting. Then after that, Byakushiki transform into the first shift in the middle of the battle. However, in the end, Ichika lost to Cecilia due to his shield energy is decreased to zero. Ichika‘s IS has used up all of the shield energy and convert the energy to his sword. Chifuyu has mention that it is a double-edge sword and it is an defect IS. So, Cecilia win the match…

Personal Impression

I personally think that this episode is great. A lot of things happen and of course, good fan service. OK, first of all, I really like Houki‘s voice. It reminds me of Mio Akiyama from K-on! Ichika seems to be quite slow when it come to fact and information. Thats why he didn’t like book so much. When it comes to the fight, he is a natural hero. Ichika is the first time of piloting Byakushiki. Then he suddenly become so good in the fight as if he’s has been piloting an IS before. That why anime is so cool, a sudden power-up… When Ichika trying to run away from the missle, suddenly the default setting is change to First shift, a better looking and stronger Byakushiki. I think if the shield energy is not been used up, means that Ichika will be victorious… Well, for the first timer, Ichika is doing great! Cecilia on the other hand, is also cool. She reminds me of Lockon Stratos from Gundam 00 series. Her IS which is Blue Tears is a great IS. It is a sniper type that can deploy “fang” for attack. I’m not sure if that thing can become shield though. Cecilia sure looks lovely & cool in the blue IS. I think Cecilia starts to develop a love feeling towards Ichika after that fight. Well, it shown in the last part of the anime, when Cecilia taking the bath! Please don’t look at her so much…
